The annual Bill Award has been created and named after Maurice Willard (Bill) Waterhouse, 1935-2015, for his visionary support of local live entertainment excellence in Huntsville, Ontario.

Bill was the grandson of Charles Waterhouse, who founded Deerhurst Resort on the shores of Peninsula Lake in 1896. Bill was the force behind significant expansion in accommodation and live entertainment at the resort and some say it was Bill’s vision as an entrepreneur and developer that “put Huntsville on the map”.
